WIZARDING WORLD SCAVENGER HUNT & MEMORY GAME PRINTABLE

THIS WIZARDING WORLD SCAVENGER HUNT & MEMORY GAME PRINTABLE IS ONE PRINTABLE THAT YOU CAN USE IN MANY WAYS!

When I first decided on creating a Harry Potter themed playroom I realized I lacked toys and activities that would fit this months theme. When I looked into worksheets and games, I was let down with my choices or found them too decorated and cheesy. So – I made my own! What I love about these types of simple scavenger hunt pages is how versatile they can be and how you can shift their use depending on the age group you have.

Oh and don’t forget to download it for yourself * H E R E! *

YER A WIZARD, DUDE

I’m slightly obsessed with my laminator so I laminated mine. While I’m trying to reduce our plastic waste, I also enjoy the fact I could print out one copy and laminate it. Now I have a reusable version that can be packed away and pulled back out many times instead of constantly reprinting.

The pdf download contains two versions: one titled scavenger hunt and another titled memory game. The memory game is better suited for the younger crowd and the scavenger hunt version could be used from older toddler up to the early grades of elementary school! There’s also a third page with no title, just the images. That’s the one I print to cut out and use as pieces.

Or worse, expelled!

Simple game #1: Match Game!

Cut out the game pieces, turn them upside down, pick a piece and find it’s home! To add a little ‘difficulty’ you could print out some bonus images that aren’t on the board and let them figure out which ones match and which ones don’t.

Simple game #2: Easy Scavenger Hunt!

Hide the cut out pieces in easy to reach areas in the playroom/classroom. Have them hunt for the pieces and bring them back until they’ve completed the board.

Simple game #3: Memory Game!

Print out two of the objects sheets and cut them out into squares. Turn them all upside down, shuffle them around and then take turns trying to find matching pairs.

IT’S LEVI-O-SA

One quick add-on: velcro! Adding velcro is a great way for toddlers to play with it. It means they can add the pieces and not have them move around.

The bonus is that it helps prevent losing pieces during storage, since they stick right onto the board!

Dobby is free

If you’re playing with an older child or classroom, a great way to keep them engaged with such a simple design is to have the pieces hidden in higher up, more hidden spots. If old enough, even well hidden (think under a pile of books, behind a poster).

If you’re with a large crowd, you can split them up into teams and give each one the scavenger hunt sheet and have them write down where they found each symbol.

Don’t be afraid to take it outside! This would be a fun one to set up hidden pieces at the playground or a well known forest trail.

Have fun and don’t forget to tag me if you try it out!
