SANTA’S WORKSHOP PLAYROOM

THE ROOM

So here it is! Our little workshop. Crooked chimney and everything. 

ELF OF THE MONTH 

Would it be Santa’s Workshop without an Elf of the Month wall? I made each one quickly on Canva and the kiddos get to take them home as a keepsake after Christmas! 

THE TOOL BENCH

In a perfect world I would have covered the stovetop and everything, but like I said, keeping it simple. I swapped out the usual food options for this Melissa and Doug tool box and the Ikea Mula hammering toy.  A few Ikea Vinterfest aprons, a few wooden blocks and the kitchen was transformed into our tool bench! 

THE FIREPLACE

This DIY fireplace is definitely my favourite part of the playroom. So much so that I’m creating a theme in January to keep it up! It was made with two cardboard boxes that I painted white and then painted brick squares. The fire inside is felt glued to cardboard, with crumpled brown paper as the logs. To finish it off each kiddo has their own mini stocking! 

THE TOYS

To keep with the theme of Santa’s Workshop I chose a toy rotation that included lots of ‘buildable’ toys, with a little Christmas mixed in. This includes:

• Mr Potato Head 
• Mega Blocks (I pulled out all the red & green ones from out collection)
• Ikea Strala reindeer
• Ikea Mula Shape Sorter
• Melissa and Doug Shape Puzzle
• Fake snowballs from Dollarama
• Sensory bottles filled with thrifted Christmas items, like pompoms and garland
