CANADIAN KIDS PLAY COUCHES
Some may look at them and think they’re useless but I think kids play couches are here to stay.
Ever heard of the infamous Nugget couch that can be impossibly hard to buy – especially in Canada?
It’s the OG in the realm of kids play couches – well, so long as we don’t count pulling the regular couch cushions off and playing with them. Kids play couches are essentially couch cushions: they’re foam blocks in various shapes that come with slip covers. The foam blocks are stackable, sturdy and can lead to hours of play for your kids. The Nugget couch has become a phenomenon in the parenting world, with some even calling the Nugget fans a cult, and because of this it’s hard to snag one when they’re released. Not to mention the Nugget After Dark Facebook group… but thats a discussion for another day.
All jokes aside play couches are awesome. While they’re a toy that has a higher price point, I slot them into the category of toys that cost a lot upfront but will grown up alongside your kids, so are worth the price. Similar to pikler triangles and wobbel boards, for example. It’ll provide extra pieces of comfy seating, can be used to build forts on a rainy movie day and great floor padding for the kids who will jump off the higher surfaces no matter how many times they’re asked not to.
